I wanted to say thank-you to all the electric crews who came in to Oklahoma, from all over the country to help with restoring power to our devasted state. We had no power for over a week. We couldn't leave and go to a shelter or stay with anyone because of our cats. So we stayed in a cold house and did the best we could. It was the hardest for the first 4 days because we didn't have a generator. It was Thursday before we were able to buy one. I think the hardest day was this past Monday when the electric company finally showed up to turn our power on. We were so excited. When one of the men came back around the house and told us they couldn't turn our power on because of a short in the wiring we were devasted beyond belief. We finally got ahold of an electricain and it cost us a small fortune to have the wiring replaced.
I try to think of how lucky we were through all of this. A friend of ours is dealing with one of the worst things that could possiblily happen to her. Her husband (57 years old) died suddenly Tuesday. My prayers and thoughts are with her and her family today.
I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas.
